According to news on July 3, 2023, on the occasion of celebrating the 27th National Song Festival and the 17th Dance Festival of Latvia, Atex® fabric membrane produced by Latvian Valmiera Glass Group was used in Mežaparks Stage construction. This technical solution will protect festival attendees from the effects of sun, wind and rain while ensuring high-quality acoustics. This is especially important as the choir’s voice is magical and soaring during the festival’s finale concert.

The stage dome is made from 5,324 square meters of Atex® 4000 TRL fabric membrane, a specially prepared silicone-coated glass cloth. What makes this material so special is its high resistance to the external environment, non-flammability and acoustic properties, which is why it is often used in the construction of large cultural and sports facilities of global importance. The fabric membrane is formed by Valmiera Glass (UK), a subsidiary of Valmiera Glass Group, using fiberglass produced by Valmiera Fiberglass Company to woven into cloth and then coated with silicone.

The Mežaparks Grand Stage is the venue for various large-scale cultural events in Latvia and is also a world-famous architectural venue.
