NANJING EFG CO., LTD., expert of wateproof frame materials
Toray Industries Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan) announced that its subsidiary Toray Resins Europe GmbH (TREU, Neu-Isenberg, Germany) has established the recycling of fiberglass-reinforced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) resin waste from the injection molding process. Craftsmanship. TREU created its process using proprietary composite technology in collaboration with partner MKV GmbH Kunststoffgranuate (Beselich, Germany) to launch a fiberglass reinforced PPS resin product under the brand name Ecouse TORELINA™. MKV GmbH Kunststoffgranuate is a company specializing in recycling engineering and high-performance plastics.
This product is produced from industrial waste generated during the injection molding process, with 50% recycled content. Compared with the original fiberglass reinforced PPS resin, the product maintains 90% of the mechanical strength and reduces the carbon footprint to 45% of the original.
Fiberglass reinforced PPS offers high flame retardancy, long-term durability and chemical resistance. As a result, it enables a variety of applications including electric and other automobiles, electrical and electronic equipment, and water-related components. According to Toray, traditional recycling of fiberglass-reinforced PPS by repeated molding shortens and damages the fiberglass, greatly reducing the mechanical strength. This problem limits the recycling rate.
