A Review of Mechanical Properties of Glass Fiber Recycled Concrete

GF ( glass fiber) , as a kind of fiber that has been widely used in all major fields in the last century, can likewise be added to improve the mechanical properties of recycled concrete, and a review of the mechanical properties of GFRAC ( glass fiber recycled concrete) was presented. The results show that the presence of recycled aggregate and the old mortar on its surface leads to the existence of several complex interfacial transition segments within the recycled concrete, and these transition segments affect the strength of recycled concrete. This defect of recycled concrete can be improved by adding glass fibers appropriately, which can improve the strength of the interfacial transition zones by using the bridging effect of the fibers. Studies have shown that with the increase of the replacement rate of recycled aggregate, the compressive strength of recycled concrete decreases significantly, and the addition of fibers can effectively improve the compressive strength, and when the replacement rate of recycled aggregate is about 30% , the fiber mixing rate is 0. 5% to 0. 75% , and the fiber length is from 12 mm to 18 mm of the mixing length, the compressive strength reaches the optimum. And the flexural strength is also optimal under the same conditions. When the control of fiber admixture is unchanged, the recycled aggregate replacement rate is increased to 70% , the recycled concrete splitting tensile strength reaches the maximum.
